Choosing a sectional
A sectional is usually the biggest piece in the room, so start with a tape measure. Measure the length of each wall you want it against, and note where windows, vents, and doorways fall. Leave a clear path to walk around it.
Next, think about orientation. A sectional's chaise or corner is usually described as left-facing or right-facing, meaning the side it's on when you stand in front of the piece and look at it. If you're not sure which way your room needs, bring a quick photo of the space and we'll help you sort it out.
Finally, count seats for a normal night, not just holidays. If someone likes to stretch out, ask about a chaise.

Sofas and loveseats
Sofas start at $400. A sofa works in almost any living room, and it's easier to move later than a sectional. In a smaller room or an apartment, a loveseat may fit better. Plenty of people pair a sofa with a loveseat to seat more people while keeping the corners open. Measure the wall where it will go before you come in. For loveseat prices, call or stop in.
Recliners
The thing people forget with a recliner is the room it needs when it's leaned back. Measure the space behind the spot where it will sit, and the space in front for the footrest. Ask how much room the one you like needs fully reclined, and try it in the store first. Recliner prices depend on the piece, so call (916) 585-3613 or stop in for a price.
Measure before you come in
1
Measure the room
Write down the wall lengths and how far the piece can come out without blocking a walkway.
2
Measure the way in
Check the width of every doorway, hallway, and stair turn it has to pass through. Big pieces get stuck at the door more often than in the room.
3
Count the seats
Decide how many people need a spot on a normal day. That tells you sectional, sofa, or loveseat.
4
Bring your notes
Bring your measurements and a photo of the room, or text them to (916) 585-3613 before you visit.
